Are you experiencing problems with progressing a Return-to-work program and want our doctor to talk to the treating doctor?
Injury Management Consultations are a type of independent medical assessment where the doctor has been asked to identify and address barriers to your rehabilitation. Examples of reasons why the assessment has been organised include:
- Your return to work program has not progressed
- Your employer is uncertain as to how long you will be unwell for
- It is unclear as to what duties you are fit to perform
- Your treating doctor cannot / will not provide the above information
You will need to allow 1 hour for this consultation. As the doctor will ask you to fill in a simple question before the consultation begins, please arrive at least 15 minutes early, and bring copies of all of your investigations and reports with you.
The doctor will read you file before your arrive, and during the consultation will ask you a lot of detailed questions and examine you (if as relevant) before discussing with you his opinion on how to help you move forward with your rehabilitation. The doctor will try and talk with your treating doctor and will send a copy of his report to both you and your doctor.
The doctor may want to talk with your employer to obtain specific information about your job.
You may bring a support person with you to the consultation, and a chaperone will be provided if required.
